SME Health insurance – for as few as 1 employee
If we have learned one thing from the pandemic it is that your Health is paramount, without it life can become very difficult.
Having seen the private and NHS hospitals go into lockdown it has created lengthy delays for treatment under the NHS and it’s going to take some time to clear that back log.
Offering Health Insurance to your employees demonstrates that you take their health very seriously and that you care. It not only provides access to prompt medical treatment, most importantly it will help you recruit and retain the best staff.
For a small business with Key staff, you should seriously consider the impact if they were unable to work due to an illness, now more than ever.
I already have health insurance cover
If you are fed up with the customary 10%- 15% increases in premiums each year, then talk to us. We have over 25 years’ experience of reviewing Health insurance policies for our clients. If you do not benchmark your insurance premiums against other providers, then in our experience you won’t be getting the best price.
We compare the whole market to cover premiums and benefits from the UK's leading Health insurance providers. After we have fully understood your requirements, we will find solutions to best match your needs both in terms of the cost, cover provided and the service can expect from the insurers.
We are not suggesting you change insurers, but we do recommend a full review to benchmark the terms.
Simply call our offices and we will endeavour to help and guide you – there is no obligation, no fee and no pushy sales staff.
Who is SME Health Insurance for?
Its design is to protect the Health needs of Directors and Senior Management within a business, as well as all employees. The minimum requirement for a Group scheme is just two employees.
What does Group Health Insurance cover?
Health Insurance policies are adaptable to meet both your business and financial needs; however, in principle they include the following:
What is not covered?
This is not an exhaustive list; however, in the main a Health Insurance policy will not cover the following:
What happens when you join?
When you join a Health Insurance policy for the first time you will typically be offered one of two underwriting options, however in the main Health Insurance does not cover any known or on-going medical conditions. The options are Full Medical Underwriting or Moratorium underwriting.
Full Medical Underwriting
This is a method of underwriting where the insurer requires full details of all previous medical history and current state of health for each person to be covered by the policy. This usually involves the completion of a health questionnaire as part of the application for cover.
From this, the insurer’s underwriter can then decide whether to:
Cover will typically not be provided for any medical conditions which any person was aware of in the five years prior to joining the policy. However, if after two years continued membership there has been no re-occurrence of the medical condition and no medical advice or medication had been sought or arranged, then after two years the condition may be eligible for treatment.
With moratorium underwriting, you should be aware that claims will be assessed in accordance with the insurer’s standard policy terms and conditions at the point of claim, which will be based upon your GP records.
